Love in Deed and in Truth

Saying or thinking we love someone is easy, but what about showing that love in action?

That's the hard part, isn't it?

It is for me, at least! (I can't be the only one, can I?!)

For that reason, I have brainstormed a few things we could do to love upon those closest to us or even people we've never met before.

Sign Up to be a Safe Family: If the term "safe family" is new to you:

It is a volunteer movement that gives hope and support to families in distress. Safe Families for Children is a global organization that are motivated to keep children safe and out of foster care.

There are various ways to get involved, some including taking in children for a short period of time, providing support to host families, and donating supplies.

Eat with Someone: it may seem like nothing to eat with someone, but mealtimes can be a very lonely time for people who live alone (for example, widows and retired elderly people) and stay-at-home-moms. It would make such a difference for them to share a meal with someone.

Surprise Visit Someone 2 Hours Away: It doesn't have to be 2 hours away exactly. The point is that you are making an effort to visit someone you don't see on a day-to-day visit. How fun would that be and how that would make their day!

Sponsor a Child: There are several organizations that you can sponsor a child through, here are a few examples:

Cure International
Compassion International
World Vision

Restore Innocence: They are an organization that provides aids to rescued human trafficking victims. They provide for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

One of the ways you could get involved is by putting together a Restoration Bag. Often times the rescued victims have to turn in their possessions as evidence, so these Restoration Bags will provide brand new clothes, hygiene products, etc for the girls as they begin their new lives.
